YouTube: Gangnam Style is most viewed video of 2012 with nearly ONE BILLION plays

The chart topper has been viewed at least 983 million times worldwide - almost 800,000 more than last year's winner, Rebecca Black's Friday

Rap sensation Psy's Gangnam Style video has topped YouTube's 2012 most watched list - with nearly ONE BILLION views.
The chart topper has been viewed at least 988 million times worldwide - almost 800,000 more than last year's winner, Rebecca Black's Friday.
Canadian band Walk off the Earth's cover of Gotye's single Somebody That I Used To Know was in second place with at least 141 million views.
And in third with 95 million was Kony 2012, a film to promote awareness of Ugandan militia leader Joseph Kony and get him arrested.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez took fourth spot with their cover of Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe', which has been viewed at least 55 million times.
In fifth was Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney, Epic Rap Battles Of History Season 2, watched at least 46 million times.
YouTube said: "This year, Korean Pop music transcended boundaries and took the world by storm.
"Cover songs, parodies, and 'do-it-yourself' music videos from all genres entertained us in countries near and far.
"2012 has been a big year for YouTube. You’ve been watching over 4 billion hours of video a month."
