RACHEL Shenton has quit Hollyoaks to move onto "pastures new".
The 24-year-old will leave screens in February next year after a storyline involving a cameo from Eamonn Holmes.
In a statement Rachel said: “Mitzeee’s final week is not to be missed, especially when she finds herself chatting to the fabulous Mr Holmes.
“I’ve had an amazing two years playing Mitzeee.
"She’s been on an incredible journey that’s not over yet...
"It’s been an absolute privilege to work with the cast and crew that make Hollyoaks such a special place.
"This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve made, but I feel it’s time for Mitzeee and myself to move onto pastures new.”
Her departure is marked by scenes with telly presenter Eamonn Holmes.
The presenter of This Morning and Sky News shot scenes in London with Rachel, whose character Mitzeee appears on his Sunrise programme.
Earlier this week he joked on Twitter: "Just rehearsing with @RachelShenton for my new role in Hollyoaks! Just to say @RachelShenton , thank u for being a delight to work with. Do u think the audience will take to our blossoming romance plot ?"
The 53-year-old host added: "I wonder how long my Hollyoaks contract will last? Big thanks to Hollyoaks for giving young acting talent like myself and @RachelShenton our big breaks. Valentine's Day Special."
Rachel added: "@EamonnHolmes thank you very much, lovely to meet you. Cracking morning #hollyoaksnewheartthrob :)"
She teased: "What is mitzeee doing with @EamonnHolmes?...."
